For many students who learned virtually this past year, the arts took a hit! We’ve spent so much time making sure kids stayed “caught up” in Reading, Writing, and Math. Art is also a vital part of education for all learners! Here are some at-home art projects for virtual learners, perfect for distance learning, homeschooling, or summer projects.

Alphabet Crafts

Your students will love reinforcing alphabet skills with these fun ABC crafts! Make an ABC book, have students create the letters of their name, or even a special message for a friend or family member! This pack includes all the instructions you need to create each unique letter of the alphabet. This pack includes the following for each letter of the alphabet:
  • Easy print pages (to print on colored paper)
  • One page coloring page
  • Step by step picture directions
  • One page picture directions to view on any device
  • Printables for alphabet book
  • These ABC activities are perfect for students to practice fine motor skills, following directions, and of course, their ABCs! For students that could use a challenge, have them write down words in their ABC books that correspond with each letter!

    Summer Themed Art

Even if you’re into the school year, a little reminder of sun and summertime is always welcome with art! Share these summer art and writing activities with your virtual learners. Since each activity has editable pages, students can type in writing from home! The pack comes with 12 craft activities (with writing). Assign individually, or give your students a choice!
  • Sun
  • Pink Lemonade
  • Sunflower
  • American Flag
  • Campfire (and Roasting Marshmallow)
  • Firefly
  • Popsicle
  • Ice Cream Cone
  • Hot Air Balloon
  • Watermelon Slice
  • Sailboat
  • Pineapple
  • Collect photos of the creations from your virtual learners to display on a class website or social media. Distance learners want to be included in “bulletin boards” and wall sharing, even if it’s virtual! Perfect for summer school or all-year distance learning or homeschool, these activities will have your students excited about art and writing!

    Animal Art

Early childhood learners go crazy for anything animal related! (Truthfully, so do I!) There are so many different animal art and writing activities to use with virtual learners. You can send printable materials home or provide the instructions on how to print from home for homeschool learners. It’s so easy! The animal easy art packs include:
  • Bugs
  • Pets
  • Zoo Animals
  • Woodland Animals
  • Farm Animals
  • Ocean Animals
  • Rainforest Animals
  • These activities are a win-win. . .win! Your students learn about animals, write, and create a fun craft! Try an animal show and tell where students present their creations on Google Meet or Zoom to the class! All of these art activities can also be used with in-person learners. The digital directions make them easy to share with all learners on Google Classroom, SeeSaw, or your preferred learning system. You can also print and prep the directions and pieces to send home to students, like @teaching.little.butterflies did in this photo she posted.
