In our classroom, we adore holidays! Below you can find the crafts, read alouds, and other fun activities we will be doing this week to prep up for Easter.
Storytime book: There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Chick by Lucille Colandro
When we focus on a book in the classroom, I always like to incorporate a story map to help my students with comprehension. We read the story a few times and then we complete the story map together. My story time packs include everything you need to make the story maps as well as interactive comprehension questions about the stories. They are a life saver!
Storytime book: The Night Before Easter by Natasha Wing
To go with our Easter theme, I made up some themed sensory bins. I usually put pieces to tasks in the eggs or just straight in the rice for students to work with. I also love incorporating sorting activities into our bins for students who are still working on those basic skills.
Rainbow Rice and Eggs
Materials: rainbow rice, eggs, erasers, pom poms
Grass and Eggs
Materials: easter grass, eggs, muffin tin, spiked jacks (from walmart)
Playdoh trays are so fun to incorporate into your classroom themes! For this one, we made eggs and decorated them using lots of different supplies.
