Raise your hand if you are taking a field trip to the pumpkin patch! We have ours in October, so I definitely wanted to grab the decorating kits from Oriental Trading for our pumpkins after the trip. I decided on the Foam Monster Decorating Craft kit because we will be reading all of our favorite monster picture books this month.
Painting a pumpkin after returning from a field trip.. no thanks. Also, carving is clearly out of the question due to safety. I love using these decorating kits so students can add faces to their pumpkins and they turn out so cute!
This is a great activity to even do at the pumpkin if you have time at the picnic tables while parents are there to help. We used big and mini pumpkins; both look great!
All you have to do is peel off the backing and stick on the pumpkin. We wiped down our pumpkins before decorating to help the stickers stick better.
Please note: While I did receive these item at no cost, all opinions in this post are 100% my own.
I picked the monster faces for my students, but they have a TON of different options. Twelve “individual” decorating packs came in the bundle I bought and there were three different options to choose from along with pictures of what the finished pumpkins could look like. For about 7 bucks, you honestly can’t beat it!
I did these ones with my two year old and he had a blast! I can’t wait to do the activity with my students after our field trip to the pumpkin patch at the end of the month.
I could legit play with playdoh all day long. Especially homemade playdoh - it's SO soft! I love how many skills we can target with seasonal playdoh trays. 🎄Brainstorming what we will do next week. ... See MoreSee Less
