Valentine’s Day can be such a fun time to spread kindness throughout your classroom, home, or school! Incorporate these fun and engaging activities into your lessons next month to wow your kiddos!
Rainbow Rice Valentine Sensory Bin
Sensory bins are my love language in the classroom AND at home. I made this rice using this recipe with watercolor paints and added some jewels, plastic hearts, and foam hearts. I always love to add recycled materials to our sensory bins like old cardboard oatmeal cylinders, cardboard egg cartons, and paper rolls to give kids different things to pour the rice into. The wooden scooper is my favorite sensory tool and I always end up stealing a few funnels from the kitchen to add even more fun!
Heart Cookie Cutter Printmaking
This fun printmaking activity is SO easy to set-up for kids and turns out awesome! All you need is white cardstock, heart cookie cutters, and some tempura paint. Click here to see all of my favorite art supplies!
DIY Cardboard Heart Picture Frames for Parent Gifts
This is a quick, CHEAP, and easy parent gift you can have your kids make. Print off their pictures and glue them on to cardboard squares from recycled boxes (I just cut out 5″ x 5″ squares from a few boxes using a box cutter), and have the students glue hearts around their picture. Add magnets to hang on the fridge or some ribbon to hang on the wall or on a doorknob.
