Favorite Weather Books
Weather Anchor Charts
Our weather theme anchor charts focus on vocabulary and lots functional topics, such as dressing and activities we can do in certain weather (snow, rain, sun). We also throw in some group sentence writing and graphing.
Weather Writing Activities
For this unit, we have a class book students create to go along with the predictable chart, write about their favorite weather, and create a flipbook about weather. We also have lion and lamb calendar pieces to use during the month to discuss if the weather outside represents lion or lamb weather.
Rainbow Weather Snack
This rainbow snack is sure to be a kid favorite!
Weather Sensory Bin
For this sensory bin, I used the same blue rice I used in my St. Patrick’s Day bin that I dyed with liquid watercolor paint (Click here to read the tutorial). I added blue clear stones (rain), cotton balls (clouds), a yellow ball (sun), zig-zag chenille stems (lightning bolts), and a wooden rainbow. It might be one of my favorites!
Rain Cloud Weather Sensory Activity
This is SO COOL to watch! With less than 3 ingredients (water, shaving cream, & blue food coloring), its a quick and easy experiment students AND teachers love!
Weather Easy Art Activities
I am OBSESSED with this theme’s crafts. We tried to cover of the different types of weather with our art activities!
